It is with the deepest regret that we announce the sudden passing of Kelly Stacey, a much-loved member of the IGA community and head coach at Invictus Gymnastics. Kelly passed away on Wednesday, 30th April, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Kelly was more than a coach. She was a mentor, a role model, and a cherished friend to so many. As the heart of Invictus Gymnastics, she built not just a club, but a family. Her passion for gymnastics, unwavering dedication to her gymnasts, and commitment to the wider community left a profound impact that will not be forgotten.
Known for her warmth, humour, and endless positivity, Kelly touched the lives of hundreds of young people across the country. Her legacy is evident in every gymnast she coached, every smile she inspired, and every moment she gave selflessly to others. Even in the face of illness, Kelly continued to put her daughter, Madeline-Rae, and her gymnasts first, creating joyful memories despite her own struggles.
To honour Kelly’s memory and support her family during this incredibly difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been created to help care for her beloved daughter Madeline-Rae (aged 7), her mother Sheila, and their family. Any donations, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated.
As we mourn the loss of such a bright and inspirational figure, we also celebrate the joy, energy, and love that Kelly brought into their lives. She will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Rest in peace, Kelly. Your light lives on in the hearts of so many.
