A Celebration of Legacy and Gymnastics in Jersey
On the weekend of 3rd and 4th May 2025, Regent Gymnastics Club proudly hosted the inaugural Arthur Falle Invitational at Fort Regent in Jersey. This very special competition was held in honour of the late Arthur Falle, the much-loved founder of Regent Gymnastics, and a true pillar of the gymnastics community both on the island and beyond.
Arthur Falle, often affectionately referred to as “Mr. Gymnastics,” established Regent Gymnastics Club 44 years ago in 1981. His passion, dedication, and vision were instrumental in shaping the club into what it is today: a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving hub for gymnastics excellence.
Arthur’s impact went far beyond coaching. He played a key role in elevating the profile of gymnastics across Jersey and was a mentor and friend to many. His presence was felt in every training session, competition, and club event. He was known for his quiet determination, warm encouragement, and relentless belief in the potential of young people.
In what now feels even more significant, Arthur was able to witness the installation of the Paris 2024 Olympic equipment at the Regent centre before his passing. This equipment stood as a symbol of progress and pride during the Arthur Falle Invitational.
A Weekend of Exceptional Gymnastics
One of the standout highlights of the weekend was the opportunity for gymnasts to compete on the very same equipment used by Olympic athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This high-quality apparatus, recently installed at the Regent centre, elevated the competition experience and gave young gymnasts the unique thrill of performing on Olympic-standard equipment — a legacy Arthur was proud to see implemented before his passing.
Notably, this equipment was used by Olympic gymnasts including Simone Biles, Rebeca Andrade, Zou Jingyuan, and Artur Davtyan, among others, during the Paris Games. Competing on the same apparatus added an exciting layer of inspiration for all participants and made the event even more special. The Arthur Falle Invitational proved to be a huge success. The level of talent on display was outstanding, with gymnasts performing confidently and proudly across all apparatus. Spectators and coaches alike commented on the friendly, inclusive environment, and how enjoyable the atmosphere was throughout the entire weekend.
Smiles, high-fives, and loud cheers filled Queen’s Hall as gymnasts from a range of clubs supported one another. The event not only showcased technical excellence but also embodied the sportsmanship and community values that Arthur championed so passionately. It was a wonderful reminder of how gymnastics can bring people together and create lifelong memories.
The Arthur Falle Invitational will now become a yearly fixture in the IGA calendar, continuing to celebrate Arthur’s extraordinary contribution to gymnastics. IGA is committed to growing this event and ensuring it remains a joyful and inspiring celebration for years to come.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the athletes, coaches, judges, volunteers, families, and supporters who helped make the Arthur Falle Invitational such a resounding success. Your presence and support ensured this event was not only a competition but a celebration of a life devoted to gymnastics.
As we look ahead, Regent Gymnastics Club remains deeply committed to honouring Arthur’s memory and continuing the work he started. His spirit lives on in every gymnast who walks through our doors, every coach who shares their knowledge, and every community member who carries forward his love for the sport.
Rest in peace, Arthur. Your legacy will forever inspire us.
